Ecologisch Oostende

Ecologisch Oostende is a fictional staff event for the city of Ostend. The aim of the event was to amuse and reward the staff, but also to convey a few values. It was also important to work with a theme, to link communication, decoration and logistics.
I opted for ecology and used this theme in all aspects of the event. First off, the invitation will only go out digitally to minimize the use of paper. Furthermore, ecologic transportation will be promoted heavily, for example carpooling. The location, a tent at Klein Strand, will be decorated with native plants, while the caterer serves local and biological hors d'oeuvres and drinks. Afterwards, the plants will be reused in the city's shrubberies and the food scraps will be donated to vzw Daklozenwerking. This is also a perfect opportunity to generate press coverage.

Moreover, the program will be green. First of all, the mayor will welcome his staff and will challenge them to reduce the ecological footprint in the workplace. Subsequently, Steven Vromans, known as Low Impact Man, will unveil some of his ecologic tips and tricks. This is followed by a reception with local and biological hors d'oeuvres & drinks and music by Three O' Four.
